| Research Objectives: This paper intends to investigate the influence characteristics of Renminbi in the currency circle of the Belt and Road‘s countries, including the evolution of influence in time dimension and regional difference in space.Research Methods: Based on PMFG method, this paper examines the influence of each currency by constructing the exchange rate linkage network model of RMB, Euro, Dollar and 74 currencies of the Belt and Road‘s countries and analyzing the degree value.Research Findings: There are different exchange rate linkage plates in the Belt and Road currency circle, and the influence of RMB in this region is weaker than that of Euro and Dollar, and the proposal of “the Belt and Road Initiative” enhances the influence of RMB, and there are significant regional differences in the influence of the RMB, strongest in Central and Western Asia and weakest in South Asia and CEE. Eastern Europe.Research Innovations: A complex network model is used to study the correlation of exchange rates among the currencies.Research Value: From the perspective of currency internationalization, this paper supports the “the Belt and Road Initiative” and provides theoretical basis and empirical support for China to realize RMB regionalization and internationalization in a more targeted and comprehensive way. |
