Research Objectives: Measuring and comparing the economic status and technological status of the manufacturing and service industries international division of labor in China and the world‘s major developed countries.Research Methods: China‘s industrial export structure from the perspective of total value, the value acquisition ability of value trade exports and the export technology content based on production processes are measured.Research Findings: First, China‘s exports of intermediate products accounted for grow slowly, and there is a big gap between them and developed countries. In particular, the processing and assembly characteristics of high-tech-intensive industries and high-tech products are obvious.Secondly, from the perspective of dynamic changes, China‘s industrial economic status experienced a downward-rise-decline-rise trend in 2000~2014; the overall status of technology showed a steady upward trend; Third, China‘s low- and medium-tech manufacturing industries are climbing the global value chain more clearly.Even some industries have catch up with developed countries in recent years, but their export technology content is lower than that of developed countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany and South Korea. There is still a big gap of the economic status and technological status of high-tech manufacturing industry and modern service industry between China and developed countries, especially the United States and Japan. However, in 2008, especially since 2012, it has shown a weak convergence trend towards developed countries.Research Innovations: Based on the value-added trade and value-added trade, the overall status of China‘s industrial division of labor is evaluated from the perspective of economic status and technical status.Research Value:This paper has important reference value for the decision-making department to evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese industry‘s participation in the international division of labor, to study the development gap between China and the United States, and to formulate trade development policies.
